MOBILE PRICING

What are these prices?

As a plan.com customer you pay a fixed monthly contractual amount that will change depending on which tariff you’re on and which allowances you’re enjoying.

However, there are exceptions. Not everything is included in your monthly allowances and you may occasionally need to pay a bit extra. This will probably be down to additional charges (sometimes called ‘out of bundle’ charges).

Yes they suck, and no we don’t like them either, but we’re all about transparency, so better you know now than get a nasty surprise later down the line.

There are five types of additional charges:

  • Out of bundle charges occur if you exceed your monthly allowances i.e. you go beyond your data, voice or SMS allowances
  • Special and Premium numbers, which are ‘non-geographic’ or operated by third-parties (quiz lines, help lines, directory enquiries etc.) do not form part of your inclusive minutes’ allowance
  • International calls and SMS from the UK to a foreign country
  • Roaming calls, SMS and data – using your phone while abroad
  • MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) e.g. sending pictures as part of an SMS are not included in your standard tariff

Price calculation (rounding)

To keep things simple, we’ve presented all pricing in this document in pence (p), data is shown in  megabytes (MB), and for calls we use minutes (mins). However,  for usage that is smaller than these units, we use the following rounding rules to determine pricing:

Mobile data

Data is charged per KB. There is a minimum charge for Out of Bundle Data of 1p per data session excluding VAT. The cost of each data session is rounded to the nearest whole KB and the nearest whole penny.

Call charges

Call charges are in pence per second, except some roaming, international, directory assistance and fixed-fee calls. The charging period determined by the time you are connected to the network. Fixed fee charges are not rounded as these are not based on call duration.

VAT

VAT (at the prevailing rate) is calculated at a subtotal level, per tax code and rounded to the nearest whole pence.

Calls to special & premium numbers

This section tells you about the charges for calls from the UK to special numbers, which do not form part of your inclusive call allowance.

Additional charges are incurred if a customer makes a call to certain non-geographic numbers or chargeable numbers operated by third-parties. (e.g. quiz lines, helplines, directory enquiries etc.)

The charge when making calls to chargeable numbers is split into two parts. There’s the Access Charge, (see table) which is what we charge you, per minute, for connecting the call. Then there’s the Service Charge, which is decided by the organisation you’re calling, who have to make you aware of the charge. The total cost of the call will be the Access Charge, plus the provider’s Service Charge.

General

These Terms & Conditions form part of the Customer Guide and are incorporated into the Business Customer Contract between each Customer and Plan Communications Limited (“plan.com”).

We reserve the right to amend these terms, or to withdraw or amend any tariff in this Tariff Guide at any time. If we do that, we will do it in accordance with the notice provisions set out in the General Terms and Conditions you have agreed to.

References to Plan in these terms and conditions are to Plan Communications Limited, registered under company number 010273V, with registered offices at No.5 Victoria Street, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 2LR.

Allowances, pricing and Charges quoted within this guide are all on a per Connection/per SIM per month basis unless otherwise stated. All pricing stated in these guides are exclusive of VAT.

Inclusive Allowances

Each Tariff includes a monthly allowance for data, minutes, SMS or a combination thereof (the “Inclusive Allowance”). Any data, minutes, or texts (as applicable) up to the amount of the Inclusive Allowance will be included within your agreed monthly Charges.

Inclusive Allowances apply for one calendar month only and cannot be rolled over to a subsequent calendar month.

The Inclusive Allowance of each Tariff only includes domestic usage, which is restricted to (1) data, calls, and SMS usage within the UK, (2) data, calls and SMS activity in and/or between our Europe Zone countries and (3) calls and texts from the Europe Zone back to the UK. The UK is defined as England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Data, Calls or SMS usage that exceeds any Inclusive Allowance will be charged at the appropriate rates as set out in this Pricing Guide.

All Tariffs will be subject to the plan.com Fair Usage Policy. Certain Tariffs carry additional fair usage limits.

Charging: Additional charges

Out of bundle charges (additional charges) will be incurred if you exceed an Inclusive Allowance or any call, SMS or data allowance included within that Inclusive Allowance, or access a service that is not included in your Inclusive Allowance e.g. premium rate calls or MMS. Additional Charges will be incurred at the rates set out in this Pricing guide.

Calls

If you exceed your monthly call allowance during a billing cycle, you will pay our standard out of bundle UK/EU call rates. Call minutes only include UK to UK and EU to EU calls to standard numbers.

Calls to Premium-rate and non-geographic numbers

Call minutes exclude premium-rate numbers, which are often used by TV shows, quiz companies, chat providers and some websites. Prices are set by the premium operator.

Call minutes exclude non-geographic numbers, which are often used by call centres and not associated with areas of the country e.g. 0161 for Manchester. They often start with 05, 07 or 08. Prices are set by the NGN operator.

Some telephone numbers are operated by third-parties who connect or forward calls to another number. There are lots of these third-party services and prices are charged by the third-party at a higher rate to connect calls. Calls to these non-mobile and call forwarding services are not included in your inclusive minutes.

Call duration

Charging for a call commences when a call is answered by a person or an answering device and ends when: (a) the call terminates on your Connection; (b) 16 seconds after your Connection loses signal for any reason (we continue to maintain the call in case your Connection re-establishes a signal with the network during this period); or (c ) you do not end the call up to 30 seconds after the last third party to you were connected to has ended their call.

Texting non-standard numbers

Text messages (SMS) only include UK to UK text messages. They exclude premium-rate numbers, which are often used by TV shows, quiz companies, chat providers and some websites. Customers may also be charged for receiving text messages from premium-rate numbers. Prices are set by the premium operator.

MMS

MMS are not included in our tariff packages. MMS stands for multimedia message service and a message is typically generated when you send a photo or picture. However, an MMS message may also be sent if you add an emoticon to an SMS, exceed a certain character limit for an SMS or based on your device setting

Unlimited Calls

Unlimited calls are subject to our fair usage threshold of 3,000 minutes. We reserve the right to disable access to this tariff if the policy is breached.

Click here for more information on our Fair Usage Policy: www.plan.com/fair-use-policy.

Unlimited calls are subject to the same terms and conditions that are set out in ‘Calls’.

Unlimited SMS

Unlimited text messages (SMS) are subject to our fair usage policy of 3,000 text messages. We reserve the right to disable access to this tariff if the policy is breached.

Click here for more information on our Fair Usage Policy: www.plan.com/fair-use-policy.

Unlimited texts are subject to the same terms and conditions that are set out in ‘Texts’

International usage

The Inclusive Allowance of each Tariff only includes domestic usage, which is restricted to:

  1. Data, calls, and SMS usage within the UK,
  2. Data, calls, and texts activity in and/or between our Euro Zone countries
  3. Calls and texts from the Europe Zone back to the UK. The UK is defined as England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

International usage relates to calls and texts that originate in the UK and are received by services outside of the UK. plan.com tariff allowances do not include International calls and SMS as standard.

Unless stated otherwise, International usage is not part of an Inclusive Allowance.

International usage does not include making calls or sending SMS while abroad (this usage is classed as roaming usage, no matter where the call or SMS is received). Accordingly, International usage does not include calls back to the UK unless that call is made from a plan.com Europe Zone destination.

Our International Bolt-Ons are a range of products designed to support those Customers who make a lot of International calls or send a lot of International Text messages.

If you have an International Bolt-On or Add-on and subsequently exceed any allowance provided for International calls or SMS, Additional Charges will apply.

Additional charges: International usage

Customers who use their service(s) while in the UK to call or text services outside of the UK will incur additional charges unless they have an International Bolt-on relevant to the countries in which the calls or texts are received.

Customer will also incur additional if their usage exceeds both (i) the relevant allowance included within the Inclusive Allowance of the Customer’s Tariff and (ii) the additional daily or monthly allowance provided by any Bolt-On that has been applied.

Additional Charges will be incurred at the rates set out in this Pricing guide.

Mobile Data

If you exceed your daily bolt-on or monthly tariff and/or bolt-on allowances, you will pay our standard out of bundle domestic or roaming data rates.

The reporting of data usage can be subject to delay. Data reporting is controlled by the network on which data is being used.

Data Boosts can be requested at any time in the month and are compatible with any device that already has access to data. Neither the price nor the allowances of Data Boosts are pro-rated. If a customer exceeds their data allowance, standard out-of-bundle charges apply. Adding a Data Boost will not absorb data overage that has already been incurred. The customer will be charged for the data they have already used outside of their allowance(s) plus the price of the Data Boost.

plan.com Europe Zone

Customers with tariffs and bolt-ons that include UK allowances will now be able to use their UK allowances when roaming in the plan.com Europe Zone.

For a list of destinations included in our Europe Zone, click here.

Usage in these destinations will be deducted from your UK allowances. For example, our 3GB single mobile tariff customers will enjoy unlimited calls and texts as well as 3GB of data to use in the UK and Europe Zone.

If you use 500MB in France, 500MB will be deducted from your UK 3GB data bundle.

Usage that exceeds tariff allowances will be charged at the same out of bundle rates that apply to the UK.

The following usage is included with the UK tariff allowance:

  • All data usage in the plan.com Europe Zone.
  • Calls and texts back to the UK from a Europe Zone destination (including voicemail retrieval).
  • Calls and texts within a Europe Zone destination, e.g. Spain to Spain.
  • Calls and texts from one country to another where both are in our Europe Zone, e.g. Spain to Germany (except where calls or texts originate in the UK – these are still regarded as international calls/SMS).

The following usage is excluded from the UK tariff allowance:

  • Calls and texts from the UK to destinations in our Europe Zone will not be included in UK Tariffs – these are classified as International calls/texts.
  • Calls and texts from our Europe Zone to a non-Europe destination, e.g. Spain to the USA are classified as Out of Zone Calls/Texts and subject to additional charges.
  • All calls and texts to Premium/Non-Geographic numbers are not included, neither are texts received from premium rate numbers.

Roaming near borders

While roaming in European countries that border with non-European countries (e.g. The Republic of Cyprus, which borders with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), it is possible for a roaming mobile phone to connect with a mobile mast in the neighbouring country. In these cases, voice, text and data charges are set at the higher, non-European rates. When it comes to data usage, this can be up to £6 per MB. plan.com is not able to control which network your device connects to, and does not set the pricing for the network, which is controlled by the foreign network provider. For this reason, we are not liable for any additional charges that are incurred. This is also true of maritime, satellite and airborne networks.

Hosted pricing

What are these prices?

As a plan.com customer, you pay a fixed, monthly contractual amount every month that will change depending on which tariff you’re on and which allowances you’re enjoying. Services on our Hosted 0 tariff will be charges our standard call charges for all outgoing calls.

There are three types of additional charges:

  • Out of bundle charges occur if you exceed your monthly call allowance
  • Special and Premium numbers, which are ‘non-geographic’ or operated by third-parties (quiz lines, helplines, directory enquiries etc.) do not form part of your inclusive call allowance
  • International calls from the UK to a foreign country.

Call Recording (Out of bundle and retention)

Out of Bundle

In the event of exceeding your monthly Call Recording allowance, additional charges will apply. Allowances are determined by the type of Call Recording Bolt-On chosen multiplied by the number of Services with the Call Recording Bolt-on as the allowances are pooled across the Services.

Recording Retention
In the event of a Service with a Call Recording bolt-on being removed from the plan.com network while other Services remain active, a Call Recording (Retain) bolt-on will be automatically added to the Customer’s account. Call Recording (Retain) is a monthly Bolt-On that is not Pro-Rated and is added if one or more recordings are stored on the Call Recording platform during the billing cycle. It allows access to the recording(s) until the recording(s) are removed or expire.

  • certain other numbers

Calls to these numbers will be charged in accordance with (a) the rates set by the operator of the number or the business providing the service; and (b) the rates (‘Access Charges’) that we charge to access these numbers from our network.

International Calls

The Inclusive Allowance of each Tariff only includes domestic usage, which is restricted to call usage within the UK.

International usage relates to calls that originate in the UK and are received by services outside of the UK. plan.com tariff allowances do not include International calls as standard.

Unless stated otherwise, International usage is not part of an Inclusive Allowance.

International bolt-ons

Our International Bolt-Ons are a range of products designed to support those Customers who make a lot of International calls or send a lot of International Text messages.

If you have an International Bolt-On or Add-on and subsequently exceed any allowance provided for International calls or SMS, Additional Charges will apply.

Additional charges: international usage

Customers who use their service(s) while in the UK to call services outside of the UK will incur additional charges unless they have an International Bolt-on relevant to the countries in which the calls or texts are received.

IOT PRICING

What are these prices?

As a plan.com customer, you pay a fixed, monthly contractual amount every month that will change depending on which tariff you’re on and which allowances you’re enjoying.
